A source instance in a data flow is created with the data types available in the data flow’s native platform that are equivalent to the data object’s data types. This behavior is to ensure that any transformation created in the native platform is with valid data types of that platform.

Note, source instance is also a transformation in Diyotta Studio. However, the default conversion of data types between data object and its source instance is governed by “Data Type Mapping” setting in Diyotta Admin. In case, where there is a necessity to change this default, user can change it from Diyotta Admin.

Choose the source database (Data object) and target database (native platform), then change the data type mapping. Please note this change will also impact the “Create as other”, “Create as Target” operations from Studio
