Expression validation is not happening when I’m using the REGEXP_REPLACE function

I’ve been trying to use REGEXP_REPLACE, but the expressions will not validate. My dataflow type is of SQLSERVER/MSSQL.

Below are a couple of sample expressions I’ve tried:

  • REGEXP_REPLACE(SRC_Job.TITLE , ‘[^0-9A-Za-z]’, ‘ ‘)
  • REGEXP_REPLACE(SRC_Job.TITLE , ‘(.)’, ‘ ‘)
  • REGEXP_REPLACE(SRC_Job.TITLE , ‘[:- ]’, ‘ ‘)

Expression validation is not happening when I'm using the REGEXP_REPLACE function

How do I overcome this error?

can you change your expressions remove REGEXP and keep REPLACE, SRC_job.TITLE placed in single quotes(‘SRC_job.TITLE’) it will work , try with below expressions they are validated successfully

REPLACE(‘SRC_Job.TITLE’, ‘[^0-9A-Za-z]’, ‘ ‘)

REPLACE(‘SRC_Job.TITLE’, ‘[:- ]’, ‘ ‘)

REPLACE(‘SRC_Job.TITLE’, ‘(.)’, ‘ ‘)

1)REPLACE(‘SRC_Job.TITLE’, ‘[^0-9A-Za-z]’, ‘ ‘)

RE: Expression validation is not happening when I'm using the REGEXP_REPLACE function

2)REPLACE(‘SRC_Job.TITLE’, ‘(.)’, ‘ ‘)

RE: Expression validation is not happening when I'm using the REGEXP_REPLACE function

3)REPLACE(‘SRC_Job.TITLE’, ‘[:- ]’, ‘ ‘)
