RE: In SCD when have the offset is applied as day and SECONDS functions for the snowflake target why?

I’m performing SCD on the Snowflake Target. When I’ applying the offset value during execution. It is applied as DAYS for some tables. OFFSET is being applied as SECONDS for some of the Target tables.

In those cases how do we choose the OFFSET value?

The dateadd function in snowflake is used to add the units of time. If the SCD start date and SCD end date columns are of type DATE datatype then the dateadd function uses the day as a unit of time to add.

If the SCD start date and SCD end date columns are of type timestamp datatype then the dateadd function uses seconds as the unit of time to add.
