RE: How transient table will create in log and what is the scope of transient object?
Transient target can be created based on the native data flow databases for which we selected. so, we cant create a transient target in generic data flow because here we don’t select any native database.
We have three scopes in Data Object i.e., Project, Data flow and Job flow.
The scope is nothing but the table for which created during execution it will appending with that scope id i.e., either project/data flow/job flow ids.
1. If the Data object scope is selected as project then during execution the table name will be appending with Project id
2. If the Data object scope is selected as Data flow then during execution the table name will be appending with that Data flow
3. If the Data object scope is selected as job flow then during execution the table name will be appending with Job flow id
->Create the data flow using file as source and teradata as transient target. with Design id 1881417- this id we can see in the URL also.
-> Go the parent target data object and select the scope as Data flow.
-> Come back to dependent Data flow and execute
-> Here, in the monitor log for create target table sql the target table is appended with id none other than the Design/Dataflow id.
Note: In the same way other scopes also will work as per the scopes radio button selected in the Data object level.
