The steps involved in performing the data transfer between two Diyotta agents are outlined below,

  • Data transfer requires between two agents require a data receiver port be open on the receiving agent side
  • On receiving a request for data transfer, a socket object is created by the target agent with its IP and data receiver port, ready to receive data from the source agent
  • The source agent then initiates a socket connection to the target agent on the port where target is listening
  • Source agents applies the encryption and compression as defined in the agent settings in Diyotta Admin and transfers the data over TCP
  • The target agent acknowledges to the source the receipt of bytes of data through a status pool
  • On completion of data transfer as acknowledged by the target the communication is closed between the agents
  • The target agent then uncompresses and decrypts the data on its local disk
