RE: Does Diyotta allow use of Hive external table as source and target?
Diyotta has options to use Hive external table as source as well as target. From a Hive data object, navigate to “Properties” tab. The default option for “External Table” property is “No”, change that to “Yes”. External table option requires user to give the location of the data for the table in HDFS. This is provided in the “Warehouse Location” input in the same page. This option enables Diyotta to create an external table by pointing to that location if an external table in the same name does not exist in that database. This is particularly useful in scenarios where a project’s infrastructure strategy involves turning off and on their Hadoop infrastructure on cloud with data persisted on cloud storage.
